Till the data there are only 10th known cases are known for people with 8 ft or more in height. The person currently holds the title of the world’s tallest man in Sultan Kosen from Turkey, who was part-time farmer at the time of record made. He is 246.5 cm (8 ft 1 in) in height.
It was recorded in 2009. After making the record, two years later, the 26-year-old was measured again in Ankara, Turkey, by which time he had grown to a staggering 251 cm (8 ft 2.8 in). Source: World Guinness Records.
This massive growth in body and height is caused by a condition called, “pituitary gigantism”. This condition refers to growth hormone (GH) excess that occurs before fusion of the epiphyseal growth plates. Rest of his family member heights are average.
Sultan also holds the record for Largest hands on a living person, each one measuring 28.5 cm (11.22 in) from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger. Due to this massive size he couldn’t finish the school. He started with farming. At the time of getting recorded as the world’s tallest man in the Guinness World Records book he was a farmer. Farmers always rock.
