This place is full of venomous pit vipers, which are the deadliest predetors. The island is situated off the coast of Brazil in the Atlantic Ocean. The rising sea levels covered up the land that connected it to the mainland and due to this the snakes got trapped there.
The island is extremely small, it consists just 43 hectares (106 acres), forest area which is restricted to people by Brazilian authorities. The snakes are extremely posionous so in order to protect humanity the place is unhabitated and can’t be available for tourists.

As a normal person you might have many assumptions about snakes, like, are snakes deaf, do snakes have ears, can snakes hear a voice, and so on? There is this myth that snakes are deaf, which is not true. Of course, they don’t have visible ears, but have fully formed inner ear structures.
They don’t have eardrums. Instead, their inner ear is connected directly to their jawbone, which rests on the ground as they slither. They sense the the footsteps of predators or prey, cause vibrations in a snake’s jawbone, relaying a signal to the brain via that inner ear.
