Symbolics.com - is the first domain name registered in the world in 1985.

It was registered by Symbolics Inc. on March 15, 1985. Now a days you see .com’s, .org’s, .net’s, and so on everywhere, but, did you know what was the first domain name registered ever in the history of internet? It’s symbolics.com.

Domain name is a name pointing to some resource (server, actually) on internet. Server’s are identified using their unique IP addresses, like, 142.250.67.142, etc. But, instead of remembering these dot separated numbers internet engineers provided with this innovative domain name system.

When you put domain name aka website address in browsers address bar and hits enter, browser software send request to that website. Internet domain name resolution system then points or resolves this domain name to a particular IP address, the address that pointing to particular server.

And, then server responds to your request by following proper client-server communication techniques. It’s more technical part we’ll see that later thoroughly.

The world's first motorcycle was introduced by Edward Joel Pennington.

Many claimants are not ready to give him credits. According to them, it was gasoline powered, not steam, electric, chemical, compressed air, clockwork, spring, fluid, lodestone, pump, or perpetual motion. Whatever, it may be, but, we can’t take aside his credits for naming this machine as “The Motor Cycle.”

There are so many disputes about this topic, we’ll discuss it further later on. Or, if you’ve something to share about the matter, kindly join the conversation in the comments section.
